Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Kathy

ODBDSLC128 - One For the Men

Happy Tuesday!

It's time for a new Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!  This week's Challenge is:

Make One For the Men

I don't know about you, but masculine cards aren't all that easy to make for me!  They always look like they're missing something and you have to be careful what you put on them!  Here's my sample for the challenge:

For my card, I used "The Light of Life" stamp set:

I think this lantern image makes a nice masculine card.  I also used the Weekend Market Designer Papers from Bo Bunny for the deep, dark colors appropriate for a man.

Card recipe:

Stamps: The Light of Life (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Papers: Weekend Market (Bo Bunny), Mocha Devine (Bazzills)
Ink: Soft Suede (Stampin' Up!), Vintage Photo Distress (Ranger)
Accessories: Ribbon (Michaels), fiber (stash), Labels 18 & 23 (Spellbinders), Branch with Leaves Die (Sizzix), stylus, button (extra from clothing),  Prismacolor Pencils: Moss Green, Chocolate, Indigo Blue, Black, Espresso, Goldenrod, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Ochre

The sketch I used is from the Split Coast Stamper's Sketch Challenge from last year, SC346.

For more inspiration for the challenge this week, please visit the other designers:

I'm submitting this to the  latest Word Art Wednesday Challenge #51.  You can use Scripture or uplifting sentiments.  The Verse this week is Matthew 6:21 "For where you treasure is, there you heart will be also."  Funny, this week in Bible Study I'm studying Matthew Chapters 6 & 7, very familiar verse and one that I love!

I hope you can join in the challenge this week!  Hope all those on the East Coast are keeping safe!

    Blessings!

Heartfelt Creations Inspiration Wednesday Times Two!

    Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  This week I have two creations to show you, one using the Vintage Floret Collection and the other with the Delicate Asters Collection.

This card is made using this month's Vintage Floret Collection.

I love the soft colors of the designer paper and decided to coordinate everything around it and have the card base made out of the designer paper.  The die I used is Spellbinder's Labels 23 Grand, which I purchase just so I could use it as a card base like this.  It's such a pretty shape for a card and I like the way it looks with the Floral Oval Die.  For a closer look, just click on the picture.  Complete details on this are at the bottom of my post.

The second card I made with the Delicate Asters Collection.

I love this flower and vase image and how it fits perfectly in the Romantic Rectangles Die.  (Can you tell I like using dies, LOL?)  These flowers are so easy to color and die cut and always seem to come out so pretty without doing much to them!

I hope I've given you some inspiration to enjoy!  I really love "working" with the HC stamps, dies, and designer papers, and I pray I can continue as a designer for them.  I'm on pins and needles to find out if I made it through with the voting results!

If you would like more inspiration, please visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see all the gorgeous creations made by the design team this week!

    Blessings!

    Kathy

    This week's challenge:
Is a recipe challenge of sorts. Use three letters in the word "LEAF" and create a card or project beginning with those letters.

Example- L- leaves, E- Embossing, A-Acetate or altered F-faux stitching, flowers, fabric

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, October 28th at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, October 28th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC127. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Here's my take on the challenge this week...

For my recipe I used: L=lace, E=embossing, A=adhesive pearls, F=faux stitching.  I did all four letters, but you only need to use three.

This beautiful verse I used, 1 Timothy 1:14,  is from the Scripture Collection 8 Stamp Set pictured here:

I used Prima's Almnac Papers for the background and the paper the verse is stamped on.  The flower was made using lace trim and a needle and thread to gather it.

    Card Recipe:

    Stamps: Scripture Collection 8 (ODBD)
Paper: Back (Recollections), Almanac Collection (Prima)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Midnight Confession (Powder Puffs)
Accessories: Black chenille fiber (my weaving stash), Follow Your Heart brad (My Mind's Eye), Detailed Clear Embossing Powder (Stampendous), Adhesive Rhinestone Flourish (Recollections), adhesive pearls (Want-2-Scrap), heat tool, Labels 23 (Spellbinders), lace (RAK from Sabrina), black marker, Paper Lace II Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), piercer & mat (Stampin' Up!), Bow-Easy

Heartfelt Creations - Vintage Floret Photo Book

    Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some more inspiration from Heartfelt Creations!  This week I made a photo "brag" book using the new designer papers.  Here's the front of the book.  (Note: Click on any picture to get a better view.)

    Here's a side view...

Here is the inside of the book with a picture in it and one of the sentiment blocks from the designer papers.  This is a picture of my Mom & Dad who have since passed away.  This is the best picture I have of them before their health deteriated and one that I cherish.

    The back of the book...

    A view from above...

I really love these photo brag books!  They are easy to make and make a pretty gift.  I've done these for new moms to have for themselves and to give to the new grandparents!

I hope this gives you some inspiration on using this gorgeous Vintage Floret Collection!  Complete instructions for this are at the bottom of the post and also on the HC Blog.  Please visit the HC Blog to see all the designer's stunning creations this week!

I'm submitting this to the latest Word Art Wednesday Challenge #50.

    Blessings!

Heartfelt Creations - Vintage Floret Collection

    Happy Wednesday!

It's time for the release of the new Vintage Floret Collection for October!

The Vintage Floret release is a beautiful collection of ancient luxury. This month’s paper release is similar to the wallpaper of a quaint Parisian cafĂ©. The textured flower stamps add a quiet delicacy to every project. The typography is a delightful combination of botanical growth and grandmother’s old typewriter stored away in the attic.

There are 5 new PreCut Stamp Sets, one 12x12 Paper Collection, and one beautiful new exclusive Spellbinders die designed for Heartfelt Creations. Leave a comment on the HC blog by October 16th and you will be eligible to win the entire release valued at $134.93 .

I love this collection of stamps, dies, and papers!  These are so beautiful and so much fun to work with!  Here's my first card from the collection:

I'm so excited that this was posted on the Heartfelt Creations' Blog this past week for a sneak peak at the new release!  That was my first time!  I just love this flower pot image, it is so pretty and fun to color!  The colors I used were done using the colors of the image on the matching designer papers.  The papers are absolutely stunning!  I didn't use any of the designer papers on this card as I loved it with just the pink and brown around it to highlight the image, but I'm having lots of fun using the papers on some other projects I'm working on!

Make sure to visit the HC Blog to check out all of the stunning samples from the design team and to leave a comment for a chance to win the entire collection!

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #57 - Pretty in Pink & Ribbon.
Split Coast Stampers' WT395 - Odds Challenge for the 3 popped flowers and TLC398 for adding dimension.

    Blessings!

    Heartfelt Creations Inspiration

    Hi there!

    Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creations inspiration!

This week I have 2 cards, the first one is for Fall...

I used elements from the Classic Editions Collection on this one.  I love the little truck with the dog inside.  He looks just like my golden retriever Bailey!  When you cut the truck image with the die, the door can actually open and close!  So cute!  I had fun with my new Autumn Flower Soft for all the colorful leaves.

I'm submitting this to the Free For All Challenge F4A136 at Split Coast Stampers to include fall leaves.

The second card was made with an older stamp that I fell in love with!  I love chubby little birds, and these guys are too cute!  This stamp is called "Baby Bluebirds"!

I had fun coloring this one...my favorite thing to do!  I added some Posy Patch flowers to the branches for extra cuteness!  I'm submitting this to an older Ways To Use It Challenge at SCS WT369 to use your favorite coloring medium.

I hope I have given you a little inspiration!  Make sure visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see all the gorgeous projects from the design team!  Also, make sure the vote for your favorite 5 current designers you would like to see return and your favorite 5 new designers from the semi-finalists.  You have until October 17th to vote, and you'll be entered in a drawing for a chance to win $50 gift certificate!  I would LOVE to stay on the design team for the next term!!!

I'm also submitting these to Word Art Wednesday Challenge #48.

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Blessings!

    Kathy
